stacks of papers
in white, brown and yellow
smooth under my touch
the feel of plastic
the blots on my palms
pens and markers
telephones ringing
mobiles beeping
all eyes on me through the glass walls
loud knocks, the door unlocks
katy perry and D O double g
then I hit mute
stranger after stranger
call me by my name
none of them resemble
this voice in my head
coffee and cream
the aroma consumes me
I get intoxicated
as it brings deliverance
to a world of long-forgotten dreams
and
gets me.
little by little
I lose sight of what's real
then I drown
into my visions
of yesterdays well-remembered
